Why Showing Up and Sharing Your Voice Matters More Than You Think

I was recently reflecting on one of my very first blog posts from quite a few years ago, back when I was blogging on Clem Loves… who remembers that?! It was a simple post about tea, and how I found that by drinking herbal teas they helped to heal my eczema (which I still highly recommend). I took a few pictures on a very old iPhone, and I think I just wrote a few paragraphs.

At the time, I wasn’t really promoting my blog on social media (Instagram was also still quite new then), but SEO was obviously doing its quiet magic in the background. One day, I received a lovely comment from someone who had read my post… it was just that one comment, but it truly made my day.

It’s a really beautiful reminder that our words, our stories, and our passions have the power to reach someone. Even if just one person connects with what you share, that connection matters. Your content is unique, and your voice is valuable… always remember that!

It was also during this time that I wondered if any one was even interested in what I was writing and sharing. But it also taught me, and has become a firm reminder, that even though it’s very easy to feel disheartened when engagement seems quiet, every small moment holds meaning.

Even when it feels like no one is watching, your words may be reaching someone in ways you don’t yet see. It’s another reminder to keep showing up and keep sharing, because the impact you’re making is often so much greater than you realise.

“You’re blossoming in ways you may not have imagined.”

If you’ve ever wondered whether your presence online is making a difference, this is a gentle reminder: it is.

Even when the likes are low or the silence feels loud, your words, your work, and your heart are reaching someone. And that matters.

You don’t need to be everywhere, all the time. You don’t need to go viral to be valuable. What truly shapes your presence is simply showing up – in your own way, at your own pace, with intention and heart. Even the smallest thing you share can land exactly where it’s needed.

Every now and then, a small reminder is all we need to keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Here are five gentle truths to hold onto when doubt creeps in:

Your words have power

Even a single comment or connection can make a difference. Over time, your words and presence begin to reach the people who truly value what you share.

You’re planting small seeds, the kind that take root slowly, quietly. You might not see the growth right away, but it’s there, unfolding beneath the surface. And one day, you’ll realise those small, unseen beginnings were shaping something beautiful all along.

Small steps matter

Even when it feels like no one is watching, your work is reaching someone. Small steps often create the greatest impact.

I’ll admit, I’ve been feeling impatient this year, eager for our little garden to wake up and be filled with colour again. But it made me realise that if everything happened too quickly, I would have missed the quiet beauty of nature gradually coming to life.

It’s in these small, quiet moments of growth where true beauty often appears, and it’s the same with the progress we make, even when it feels slow.

Keep showing up – you’re offering more than you know

Consistency and passion can have an impact greater than you realise. When you show up with intention, sharing what you love, connecting with others, and simply being there, your presence begins to take root, quietly reaching those who need it.

Even if it feels like no one is noticing, trust that something is growing. Your consistency, your care, your voice, they make a huge positive difference.

Someone, somewhere, needed your words at that very moment. And sometimes, just by being there, you’re offering more than you know.

Your voice is valuable

What you share is unique and meaningful, even if engagement seems quiet. Just like the blog post I shared many moons ago, with that one piece of content, I started to see that there were people who truly valued what I was writing.

It encouraged me in a small but wonderful way, and helped me keep going. And over time, as is often the way with beautiful things, I began to see growth in ways I never expected.

Trust the unseen impact – every piece of content is a little seed you’re planting

Sometimes, the difference you’re making isn’t immediately visible, but it’s still there.

Every piece of content is a little seed you’re planting… yes, I’m using the seed analogy again! It starts small, but over time, it sprouts, blooms, and blossoms into something amazing. I still have content from years ago that continues to be viewed, and sometimes, it’s that very content that brings new connections my way.

I’ve come across many accounts with content I absolutely loved, content that inspired and encouraged me. But then, I’ve sadly discovered that the person behind the account is no longer posting, and I can’t find them anywhere else online.

Is there a story or passion you’ve been wanting to share but haven’t yet? What’s been holding you back?
