“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”
- Frances Hodgson Burnett, from The Secret Garden
My story…
I live in the beautiful cathedral city of Lichfield with my husband David (you can find him over at A Life More Creative). You’ll often find me with a book in one hand and a big cup of herbal tea in the other…I’m currently re-reading the Harry Potter series! I'm a huge book lover!
I’m a Lincolnshire girl, born and raised in the heart of the fens. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved being outdoors and have always been drawn to the beauty of nature.
I loved making dens at the bottom of the garden, climbing trees, and pretending to be an explorer on adventures in the open wilderness. I loved trips to the seaside, scrunching up my toes in the sand, and dipping them in the salty sea (while steering clear of seaweed). I loved finding magic during walks through the woods, searching for deer, squirrels and birds of all kinds (and of course, for fairies too)!
I’m passionate about slow, simple and seasonal living, and for me, all three are very much intertwined. These are the values I love to embrace in both my personal life and within my work, bringing intentionality, mindfulness, and a deeper connection to nature’s rhythms.
My slow living journey started back in 2017 after I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. I suddenly became aware of how leading a busy and stressful life was having a negative impact on my health and well-being. This inspired me to seek an alternative approach to life and work, one rooted in nature, in the simple things life offers, and alongside the rhythms of the changing seasons.
From a young age, I’ve loved carving out my own little corner in the online world.
My journey started when I got my first laptop, where I discovered I had a passion for creating blogs, websites, and eventually, social media content. I can still remember two websites I made called Chocolate Hamster, after my love of chocolate and my pet hamster, and Cool Girls Today, where I mostly shared song lyrics that I had written, one being all about my love for cats!
Looking back, I truly believe my love for all things creative in the online world stirred in me a passion which has endured through the years. Although it was a fun little hobby at the time, it began to sow seeds which, over time, started to set down their roots. These became the very foundation of my journey towards launching Clementine Rose.
If you’re looking for someone to walk beside you as you grow and bloom online, I’d love to help and support you.
I’d love for you to join my beautiful Substack community, Journal of Soulful Reflections, a nurturing and nourishing extension of Clementine Rose.
Here, I share musings on the seasons, the gentle joys of daily life, and thoughtful reflections inspired by slow and simple living. You’ll often find bookish notes, seasonal favourites, glimpses into life at home, and supportive words for fellow makers and creators who long for a gentler approach to their work.
It’s a space that feels a little like receiving a kind note from a friend - warm, honest, and quietly uplifting. My hope is that whenever you read, it offers you a small moment of calm, a reminder of life’s simple beauty, and a gentle encouragement to honour your own rhythm.
