“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”

- Frances Hodgson Burnett, from The Secret Garden

My story…

I live in the beautiful Cathedral City of Lichfield with my husband David (you can find him over on A Life More Creative). You’ll often find me with a book in one hand and a big cup of tea in the other!

I’m a Lincolnshire girl, born and raised in the heart of the fens. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved being outdoors and have always been drawn to the beauty of nature.

I loved making dens at the bottom of the garden, climbing trees, and pretending to be an explorer on adventures in the open wilderness. I loved trips to the seaside, scrunching up my toes in the sand, and dipping them in the salty sea (while steering clear of seaweed). I loved finding magic during walks through the woods, searching for deer, squirrels and birds of all kinds (and of course, for fairies too)!

I’m so passionate about all things slow, simple and seasonal, and for me, all three are very much intertwined. These are the values I love to embrace in both my personal life and within my work, bringing intentionality, mindfulness, and a deeper connection to nature’s rhythms.

My slow living journey started back in 2017 after I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. I became very aware of how leading a busy and stressful life was having a huge negative impact on my health. This inspired me greatly to seek an alternative approach to life and work, one rooted in nature, in the simple things life offers, and alongside the rhythms of the seasons.

How my online journey began…

It actually started when I got my first laptop and began making tiny corners of the internet just for fun. I remember creating ‘Chocolate Hamster’ (inspired by chocolate and my pet hamster) and ‘Cool Girls Today,’ where I think I mostly shared song lyrics I’d written, including one about my love for cats. I can still remember the words!

Looking back, it kind of makes so much sense that I’ve ended up spending so much of my life online, first as a blogger (you may remember my Clem Loves days!) and now running my own little digital marketing business. I feel those early ‘experiments’ were definitely the beginning, with a few tiny seeds being planted too!

If you’re growing something online right now and would love a ‘bosom friend’ to walk beside you as you bloom, I’d love to support you.

I’d love for you to join my beautiful Substack community, Journal of Soulful Reflections, a nurturing and nourishing extension of Clementine Rose.

I’d love to invite you into my Journal of Soulful Reflections, a calm space to pause, take a breath, and notice the beauty in everyday life. Each entry is a lovely invitation to enjoy small pleasures, find moments of wonder, and sometimes settle down with a good book.

Each week I share four rotating series that reflect my love of slow, simple and seasonal living. From seasonal moments in nature and everyday joys, to personal stories and what I am reading in my cosy book nook, it’s a space filled with gentle notes and little reminders of the beauty that can be found all around us.
